What junk removal involves

The minimum price for junk removal through Junk Genius is well under $100 for small loads, and yes, that's a real number with real labor included. We show up, load it, haul it, and we don't add fuel surcharges after the fact. If you've been putting off calling because you're not sure it's worth the cost, call (612) 444-5865 and we'll give you a straight estimate before anything gets scheduled.

What you pay is based on how much truck space your stuff fills. A single piece of furniture or a small pile from a garage cleanout will cost less than a full truckload from a renovation or an estate. Factors that push the number up: volume, how heavy the items are, whether we're hauling from an upper floor, and what kind of disposal the material requires. We donate and recycle as much as we can whenever possible. Read about the real trade-offs between professional junk removal and doing it yourself before you rent a trailer and burn a Saturday. Every job is different. Contact Junk Genius - Minneapolis for an accurate estimate.

HOW IT WORKS

Three Steps and It's Gone

  1. 01

    Call or Book Online

Tell us roughly what you've got and where it is. We'll give you a price range right then. No ambiguity, no callback maze. Most jobs book same-week, and we run seven days a week from 7 AM to 8 PM.

  2. 02

    We Show Up and Load

The crew handles all the heavy lifting, carries items out, and loads the truck. You don't need to move anything to the curb. Just point us at it.

  3. 03

    We Haul, Donate, and Recycle

Items that can be donated go to our local charity partners. Electronics and appliances get recycled responsibly. What's left goes to a licensed facility. We tell you what happened to your stuff.

WHAT WE HAUL

The Full List of What We Take

From a single couch to a full garage, we've seen it and we've hauled it.

Furniture Removal

Sofas, recliners, dressers, bed frames, dining sets. We carry from any floor in the house, including basements and upper-level apartments. No disassembly required from you.

Appliance Removal

Fridges, washing machines, dryers, stoves, dishwashers. Appliances go to certified recyclers, not the landfill. We handle the disconnect logistics and haul from wherever it sits.

Garage and House Cleanouts

Years of accumulation, inherited homes, homes going on the market. A house or garage cleanout is our most-requested job type. We've cleared garages stuffed floor-to-ceiling in a single morning.

Yard Debris and Outdoor Junk

Old lumber, broken concrete, storm debris, hot tubs, swing sets, sheds. Outdoor jobs get priced the same way as indoor, based on volume and weight.

Construction Debris

Renovation scraps, drywall, flooring, tile, carpet, roofing material. We work alongside contractors and homeowners doing DIY remodels. Renovation debris removal is a separate page if you need the details.

Electronics and E-Waste

TVs, monitors, computers, printers, cables. E-waste can't go in a dumpster in Minnesota. We route it to our recycling center partners so it's handled legally and properly.

HONEST PRICING

What Junk Removal Actually Costs

Small single-item loads start under $100. Full truckloads on complex jobs can run several hundred dollars or more. The spread is real because the jobs are genuinely different. A mattress from a first-floor bedroom is not the same job as a garage full of furniture, old paint cans, and broken appliances on a property that hasn't been cleaned out in 20 years. We don't publish a price sheet because a price sheet would either overcharge you on small jobs or lose money on hard ones. What we do instead: give you an honest estimate before we start, based on what you actually have. No surprises. If the load is bigger than expected once we're there, we tell you before we add anything to the truck. You're never on the hook for a number you didn't agree to. Not every company works that way. Any contractor who won't give you a ballpark over the phone is hiding something. We gotchu. Call (612) 444-5865 and we'll give you a real number in about two minutes.

WHAT WE DON'T DO

A Few Things We Won't Haul

We don't haul hazardous materials, including oil-based paint, chemical containers with residue, asbestos, or biohazardous waste. That's not a cop-out. Those materials require specialized handling and separate licensing that junk removal companies shouldn't be pretending to cover. If you've got items like that mixed in with a cleanout, tell us upfront and we'll help you figure out what to do with them separately. The rest of the load we can handle. We also don't subcontract. The crew that shows up is a Junk Genius crew, not someone dispatched from a third-party app. That matters for accountability. You can also check out our storage unit cleanouts and carpet removal pages if those are part of what you're clearing out.

QUESTIONS

Common Questions About Junk Removal

What is the minimum price for junk removal?
At Junk Genius, the minimum load price comes in well under $100 for small single-item pickups like one piece of furniture or a small pile of debris. The exact minimum depends on what you've got and where it is, but we're not in the business of charging a full truckload rate for a half-hour job. Call us and we'll give you an honest number before anything is scheduled.
What's included in a $99 junk removal service?
At our lower price tier, you're getting labor to carry and load a small volume of material, one crew visit, and responsible disposal that includes recycling and donation routing where applicable. It covers a single furniture piece, a few boxes, or a modest pile of garage clutter. If your job is bigger than that, pricing scales up based on truck space used. We keep you informed every step of the way.
What is the cheapest way to get rid of junk?
DIY hauling to a transfer station is almost always the lowest sticker price but rarely the lowest actual cost once you factor in trailer rental, dump fees, fuel, and a lost day of work. For anything bulky, awkward, or voluminous, a professional crew that recycles and donates a large share of the load often runs closer to the DIY total than people expect. We've broken down the comparison in detail if you want to run the numbers.
Where can I get junk removed in Edina, MN?
Junk Genius serves the full Twin Cities metro, including Edina and surrounding suburbs. We schedule seven days a week and can often get to you the same week you call, sometimes sooner. Call (612) 444-5865 and we'll confirm availability for your area and give you a quote on the spot.
How do you price a junk removal job compared to a dumpster rental?
Full-service junk removal pricing is based on truck volume and labor. You pay for what we haul, including carry-out and disposal. A dumpster rental works differently: you load it yourself over days or weeks and pay a flat rental fee plus weight. If you're doing a phased cleanout or a DIY renovation, a dumpster may make more sense. If you want it all gone in one crew visit, full-service is faster.
Do you recycle or donate items instead of sending everything to the landfill?
Yes, and that's not just marketing language. We donate and recycle as much as we can whenever possible. Furniture in usable condition, working appliances, clothing, and electronics all get routed away from the landfill. We track this on our end. Our crew certifications include Recycling Management specifically because responsible disposal isn't optional for us.
More questions (4)Fewer questions
How does a mattress removal job get priced compared to regular junk?
Mattresses are priced by unit count and floor location, not by weight. A single mattress from a first-floor bedroom is one of the most affordable pickups we do. Multiple mattresses, or sets from upper floors without elevator access, move the price up modestly. Mattress recycling requires a separate facility in Minnesota, which is factored into the quote, but it doesn't add a large surcharge.
How is junk removal pricing calculated?
Pricing is volume-based. We look at how much space your items take up in the truck and factor in weight for heavy loads like concrete or appliances. Floor access, item count, and disposal method also play a role. You get a firm price before we start. Nothing is added to the bill after the fact.
Do you haul construction debris from a renovation?
Yes. Drywall, flooring, tile, carpet, old lumber, and roofing material are all regular hauls for us. Renovation debris is priced by volume and weight since it's dense. If you've got a contractor job going and need regular pickups, we can schedule recurring hauls. See our renovation debris removal page for specifics.
What happens to items after you haul them?
We donate and recycle as much as we can whenever possible. Furniture in good shape goes to charity partners. Electronics go to certified e-waste recyclers. Appliances get processed at facilities that comply with Minnesota disposal regulations. What can't be donated or recycled goes to a licensed transfer facility, not an illegal dump.
