Customer Testimonials

As a consumer concerned about the environment, I was shocked to watch your team take the time to carefully separate the recyclables in my project, and prepare only the true trash items for a trip to the landfill. Great, caring effort!

Our Environmental Priority

At JUNK GENIUS, we have seen first hand the magnitude of the solid waste challenges facing our Country. In fact, because we rely on landfill and other solid waste disposal options as a vital part of our business, we are compelled to stay current with both local and national solid waste issues. Consider the following statistics concerning solid waste management in the United States:

  • In the United States, we generate approximately 230 million tons of municipal solid waste (MSW) annually.
  • The average US citizen generates over 4.5 pounds of solid waste PER DAY.
  • As economic and population growth in the US continues, so does the daily and annually solid waste that enters the waste management system.
  • As we demand more "disposable," "imported, low quality" and "single-use" products, solid waste per citizen increases proportionately.
  • Even with concerted efforts to increase recycling, national averages account for only slightly over one pound per day, per citizen.

That said, independently and collectively, Junk & Trash Removal Companies have a unique opportunity to impact how we manage solid waste in the United States.  Even so, it is concerning how few companies make an effort to affect the issue positively, largely caused by simply putting profit and labor costs ahead of making an environmentally responsible contribution to the solid waste issue.

We Can Make a Difference

JUNK GENIUS understands the importance of the environmental, financial and social impacts that mismanagement of solid waste disposal can impose. That's why with every removal job, we perform the following, BEFORE heading for the landfill:

  1. Inspect all items needing removal to determine which, if any, can be donated to a charitable organization for use by the needy.
  2. Separate all recyclable items, particularly metals, plastics and papers.
  3. Separate all compostable and landscape materials.
  4. Separate and handle any potentially hazardous materials with particular care.
  5. Drop off all donation items, hazardous waste, recyclables and compostables at applicable facilities.
  6. Prepare the remaining solid waste for efficient handling and minimal volume and bulk before submitting it to the solid waste landfill.

So, while taking these steps costs more, and requires more training and labor resources to perform, we want our customers to feel as positive as possible about having to dispose of their waste. Customers regularly share feelings of guilt over their "waste."  Taking the time to be environmetally responsible and perform the necessary steps to minimize the solid wastes entering our waste system is good for our customers, our environment and our business.

Now, that's a bit of Genius...
